project 06.

This is a proposed project collaboration between Dark Matter Coffee Company and The lead guitarist for the band Metallica, Kirk Hammett. Kirk Hammett has several coffee company collaborations and I wanted to create a striking image paired with package design to create my version of his signature coffee. Wanting to explore the rugged yet sleek nature of linoleum printing to capture the mood of of this legendary guitarist. As a lover of Classic Rock I am keenly aware to the lead guitarist's love for collecting horror memorabilia, so I wanted to keep this in mind while designing. I also wanted to pair a 3D element to the design such as string. After collecting my information, brain storming and sketching, I decided on my final design and began the carving and printing process (images below). Once I got the perfect print a sewed in string to the paper to complete my image and the concept. Finally the last steps were to add text, the Dark Matter Coffee logo and mockup my work onto the Package design with a few words on the collaboration. The process images for this project are below, this was one of my favorite projects start to finish and I hope you can see that in the work.
